Seller During the Auction

Can bidders contact me during the auction?

Yes. Bidders can forward questions to you through the Ask Seller a Question link located on your auction listing page. A copy of the bidder question will also appear in your Bid4Assets Message Center of your My Account page.

Make sure you are prepared to respond to potential bidders’ questions thoroughly and in a timely manner. Failing to do so may prevent interested bidders from participating in your auction.

What if I receive a bid outside of Bid4Assets?

In our Terms of Service, sellers agree that the auction of specific assets will be held exclusively on Bid4Assets. If you receive a bid outside of Bid4Assets, it is your obligation to have that bid placed on the site. We recommend directing interested bidders to create an account and enter their bid on your auction directly. Doing this can often generate higher levels of interest and more auction participation.

If you receive an offline offer for an auction currently live on Bid4Assets, please contact [email protected]. Our Client Services Team will be happy to assist you.

Can I end my auction early?

No. You are not able to change your auction’s dates after it goes live on the site.

Can I edit my auction listing? Auction terms? Auction description?

Once your auction is submitted, you are able to make changes to everything except the auction dates at any time, provided the auction has no bids. Once your auction has received bids, it can no longer be edited.

Can I cancel my auction?

Yes. You can cancel your auction for a fee. The amount of the fee is determined by whether or not your auction has bids.

Cancel Auction Without Bids: $50 per auction

Cancel Auction With Bids: $100 per auction

Please contact us at [email protected] to facilitate your request. Click here to see a larger breakdown of our fees and services (link to Fees and Services Page).

Can I limit access to my auction?

No. Bid4Assets does not offer inventory services.

What are seller ratings and what do the stars mean?

After the close of an auction, Bid4Assets encourages the winning bidder to “Rate the Seller” and their auction experience using a scale of 1 to 5 (one being very dissatisfied and five being very satisfied). The feedback is based on three criteria:

  1. Product Quality/Value
  2. Communication
  3. Ease of Transaction

Seller ratings are based on a 5-star system and appear next to the seller’s username on the auction listing page. The total number of feedback submissions appears in parenthesis.

A seller rating is broken down to the ½-star level and is the average of all feedback submissions they have received. Sellers with no “Rate the Seller” feedback from winning bidders will have either “Pending” (seller has sold item(s) and buyer has not completed the rating process) or “Not Yet Rated” (seller has not sold any items) appearing in place of the stars.

Interested customers can view a seller’s past rating details by clicking on the submissions feedback number next to the seller rating.
